KWU Track and Field teams earn USTFCCCA Academic Honors

The Kansas Wesleyan Women's and Men's Track and Field teams have been named to the list of All-Academic teams, and several student-athletes were named as All-Academic Athletes by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Teams earning the All-Academic Team Award must have the cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the institution's eligibility certificate for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, certifiable by either Faculty Rep or Compliance Coordinator or Registrar's Office.
 
The cumulative GPA of all student-athletes on the institution's eligibility certificate for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be computed by the following method:
  • Total the cumulative number of semester hours or quarter hours earned for all student-athletes on the eligibility certificate including the most recent grading period;
  • Total the cumulative number of quality points earned by all student-athletes, including the most recent grading period;
  • Divide the cumulative number of quality points earned by the cumulative number of semester or quarter hours earned.
  • Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale than 4.0 then must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].
 
The All-Academic Athlete Award is awarded to all nominated student-athletes who meet ALL the following criteria:
  • Cumulative GPA: 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, certifiable by either Faculty Rep or Compliance Coordinator or Registrar's Office.
  • Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].
  • Athletic criteria for the award can be met in either the indoor season, the outdoor season, or both:
  • For the indoor season: must have achieved an "A" or "B" standard in a Championship event, certifiable by their place on the NAIA descending order lists on TFRRS for Indoor Track and Field.
  • For the outdoor season: must have achieved an "A" or "B" standard in a Championship event, certifiable by their place on the NAIA descending order lists on TFRRS for Outdoor Track and Field.
  • Must have completed at least two (2) semesters or three (3) quarters at the certifying institution.
