Kansas Wesleyan Men's Soccer hosted Central Methodist University (MO.) in a non-conference, pre-season match as the Eagles of CMU visited JRI Hospitality Stadium from the Heart of America Conference.
It was a crisp cool late August morning in Salina and a great day for a soccer match where we saw both teams found ways to create shot opportunities, the Coyotes having 16 shots in the match and the Eagles taking 14.
CMU found the frame more the than KWU having 11 shots on goal whereas KWU only had eight.
Brennen Lamont shot three of KWU's shots on goal but they were all saved by CMU's goalie Niccolo Cabras.
Alexander Gardiner also had a shot on goal for the Coyotes, along with
Juan Manuel Lozada Leon that were both saved by the Eagles.
Noel Zimbeva had two shots on goal for the Coyotes and was able to put one away in the 77h minute on a direct kick.
Despite KWU finding ways to get shots on goal, the Eagles found ways to get the ball in the goal. Five different Eagles had goals with Robin Vandewalle on a brace with two assists for the Eagles.
The Coyotes will stay home this week as they continue non-conference play on Wednesday (Sep. 3rd) as Central Christian College of Kansas comes to JRI Stadium.
