WICHITA – A pair of late goals, one by each team, sent the Kansas Wesleyan Men's Soccer team and the Friends Falcons to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night at Adair Austin Stadium.
The match was scoreless until the 78
th minute when the Coyotes put in the first goal of the night.
Mateo Hoyos scored it thanks to an assist from Noel ZImbeva.
Friends was quick to answer getting the tying goal in the 82
nd minute by Eddy Rachedi.
Both teams had limited opportunities in the first half.
The Coyotes had a few more chances in the second half but it took until the 78
th minute for Wesleyan to light the lamp.
Wesleyan was able to hold off a late run by Friends as the Falcons tried to find a go-ahead goal.
KWU outshot Friends 15-11 led by three from
Skyler Denny.
Shae Wirt had three saves.
Wesleyan is back in action on Wednesday as the Coyotes host York University Panthers at 7:30 p.m. at JRI Hospitality Stadium at the Graves Family Sports Complex.
