Kansas Wesleyan Women's Soccer played its first KCAC home match of the 2025 season on Wednesday as the Coyotes came away with a 2-0 win over the York University Panthers at JRI Hospitality Stadium at the Graves Family Sports Complex.
The victory pushed KWU's record to 4-3-1 overall and 2-1 in the KCAC.
Brooklyn Velotta got Wesleyan's first goal in the 20
th minute. She was able to outbattle a defender for the ball after a pass was sent by
Adriyanna Botello. Velotta's nofty work would end positively as she went high over the keeper's head for the goal.
Freshman
Abby Perez got her first varsity collegiate goal in the 78
th minute to extend the Coyote lead.
Emma Bachman sent a ball into the box on a shot that was initially saved, but the ball bounced right to Perez who sent it into the back of the net.
Velotta had four of KWU's 14 shots as the Coyotes held a 14-11 advantage in the category.
Isabella Galvan had four saves in goal while recording the clean sheet.
KWU is back in action on Saturday heading to Springfield, Missouri to take on Evangel University Valor.
