Kansas Wesleyan Women's Tennis picked up a 5-2 win over the Hastings College Broncos on Sunday at The Pines.
KWU got wins in all three doubles matches and won four of the six singles matches to claim the match victory.
In singles, KWU got points as
Hayden Bellamy beat Josline Carter 6-4. 7-5;
Corina Salas beat Paige Wilcoxon 6-0, 6-0;
Hailey Adami beat Lexi Benson 6-1, 7-5; and
Isabella Myers beat Abby Harveson 6-4, 6-4.
Hastings got its two points in the match as Victoria Harris beat
Rylee Frye 6-3, 6-4; and Cara Ansbach beat
Alivia Sherer 3-6, 6-4, 12-10.
In doubles, it was all Coyotes.
Bellamy and Frye beat Carter and Harris 7-6 in an 11-9 tiebreaker. Salas and Sherer beat Ansbach and Benson 6-0; and Adami and
Ania Bonner beat Harveson and Kayleigh Cetak 7-5.
Up next for the Coyotes is the KCAC opening match against Avila on March 7. The match will be played in Newton prior to Avila and Bethel playing that day.
