NEWTON, Kan. – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Tennis opened its KCAC season on Saturday taking on the Avila University Eagles in a neutral site match. The Coyotes came away with a 6-1 win over the Eagles.
The Coyotes won two of the doubles matches via forfeit and three of the singles matches by the same result.
In the lone contested doubles match
Rylee Frye and
Hayden Bellamy beat Emma Koenigseder and Dani Jean-Louis 6-0.
KWU got wins in two of the three contested singles matches.
Corina Salas beat Jean-Louis 2-6, 6-4, 10-8; and
Alivia Sherer beat Koenigseder 6-1, 6-3. Avila won the other match as Alaeyah Chleborad beat
Isabella Myers 4-6, 7-6, 10-7.
The Coyotes are back in action on Tuesday hosting Fort Hays State at 2 p.m. at Salina Tennis Alliance Center.
