PARKVILLE, Mo. – Kansas Wesleyan Men's Volleyball faced its third consecutive NAIA Top 15 opponent on Tuesday as the Coyotes took on No. 3 ranked Park University at the Breckon Sports Center.
The Pirates would come away with a straight set win 25-12, 25-15, 25-15.
The Coyotes fell behind early 7-2 in the first set and just couldn't keep up. Park extended its lead to 20-7 in the set, but
Anthony Mule's kill for the Coyotes made it 21-10 before Park finished the set.
Wesleyan had brief leads in the second set at 6-5, 7-6, and 8-7 before Park used a 7-1 run to pull in front 14-9. The Coyotes trailed 17-11 before Park ran off four points to take a 21-11 lead on the way to the set win.
The third set was tied 4-4 when Park scored four straight points to lead 8-4. Wesleyan came back to get within two at 10-8, but five straight from the Pirates made it 15-8. A kill by
Conor Williams stopped Park's run but the Pirates would pull away to close out the match.
Kaleb Cui had eight kills for the Coyotes.
Dallas Manaku had 15 assists and four digs. Mule had four digs. Cui also had two assisted blocks.
The Coyotes are back in action on Friday night, hosting their fourth straight nationally ranked opponent in Missouri Valley at 7 p.m. in Mabee Arena. KWU then takes on Culver-Stockton at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
