SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Tennis opened the spring portion of its schedule on Friday taking on Morningside University. The Mustangs would pick up a 5-2 win over the Coyotes.
Both of KWU's wins came in singles play.
Rylee Frye got a win over Kailee Bailey in a three-set match. Bailey won the first set 7-5, then Frye won the second 6-0 to force a tiebreak set winning 10-8.
Hailey Adami also won in three sets over Bianca Seminario. Adami won the first set 6-3, then lost 6-1 to send the match to the tiebreak where Adami got the 10-7 win.
Morningside got wins at the other singles spots.
Hayden Bellamy lost to Lara Heinrich 6-1, 6-0;
Corina Salas lost to Helene Kreibich 6-0, 6-0;
Alivia Sherer lost to Jil Exelmans 6-1, 6-3; and
Isabella Myers lost to Ellie Peterson 7-5, 6-0.
In doubles, Morningside got wins in all three matches.
Bellamy and Frye lost to Line Jensen and Brooke Marshall 6-3; Salas and Sherer lost to Bailey and Exelmans 7-5; and Myers and
Adalyn Pfizenmaier lost to Seminario and Sophia Guntren 6-0.
The Coyotes will be back in action tomorrow taking on Mount Marty.
