ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Kansas Wesleyan Men's Volleyball dropped a straight set decision to University of Health Science and Pharmacy 25-15, 25-7, 25-21 on Saturday.
KWU fell behind 8-3 to start the first set and trailed 18-7, but scored the next three points to get within 18-10. The Coyotes could not get any closer the rest of the way.
UHSP scored the first 11 points of the second set as the Eutectics picked up a win in the second set.
The Coyotes had a 6-5 lead in the third set and led 9-8 on a kill by
Dallas Manaku but UHSP pushed out to a 18-13 lead. The Coyotes got no closer than three the rest of the way at 24-21.
Kaleb Cui had nine kills and Manaku had eight for the Coyotes. Manaku added 14 assists and six digs. Cui added six digs.
Conor Williams and
Josh Kiely had five each.
The Coyotes are back in action on Tuesday, heading to Kansas City to take on Avila at 6 p.m.
