Kansas Wesleyan Women's Tennis defeated Southwestern College Moundbuilders and Baker University Wildcats on Saturday at Salina Tennis Alliance.
The Coyotes match with Southwestern was technically over before it started as Southwestern only had two players. KWU won 7-0.
In the contested doubles match,
Isabella Myers and
Ania Bonner beat Elia Rosennscar and Florence Fifteen 6-0.
In the two singles matches played, Myers beat Rosennscar 6-3, 6-2; and Bonner beat Fifteen 6-0, 6-0.
Against Baker, KWU would win 5-2.
Baker won the doubles point winning two of three matches. KWU's win came as
Hailey Adami and Bonner beat Emma Cain and Sophie Scrimshear 6-2. Baker got wins as Laura Cabello Aguilar and Arizbe Espinosa beat
Rylee Frye and
Hayden Bellamy 7-5; and Michel Perez Sandoval and Dayna Steadman beat
Alivia Sherer and
Corina Salas 6-4.
KWU won five of the six singles matches. Bellamy beat Cabello Aguilar on a retirement; Salas beat Steadman 6-4, 2-6, 10-8; Sherer beat Perez Sandoval 6-4, 6-4; Adami beat Scrimshear 6-0, 6-3; and Myers beat Cain 6-1, 6-1.
Baker got a win as Espinosa beat Frye 2-6, 6-1, 11-9.
The Coyotes host Friends on Tuesday.
