Men’s Tennis gets 5-2 win over Friends

Kansas Wesleyan Men's Tennis picked up a key Kansas Conference win on Tuesday as the Coyotes beat Friends University Falcons 5-2 at Salina Tennis Alliance.
 
The victory keeps the Coyotes in the hunt for a playoff spot in the KCAC Tournament.
 
The Coyotes swept the doubles matches to win the doubles points. Among the wins, the duo of Adam Hanson and Paul Jittawait picked up their fourth straight win at No. 1, with three of those wins against teams ranked in the ITA Top 40.
 
Hanson and Jittawait beat Cristobal Fuentes and Gabriel Gomes 6-4 in their match.
 
In the other two doubles matches Dawson O'Donnell and Jacob Phelps beat Rodrigo Torres and Trey Lacy 6-3, and Gavin Chavez and Benjamin Cechak beat Jacob Bush and Yves Ikuno 6-2.
 
KWU won four of the six singles matches.
 
Phelps beat Torres 6-3, 6-1; Adam Hanson beat Lacy 6-3, 6-1; Chavez beat Ikuno 6-3, 6-4; and Jack Hanson beat Seth Ogden 6-4, 6-2.
 
Friends got wins as Fuentes beat O'Donnell 6-2, 6-3; and Gomes beat Jittawait 6-4, 6-3.
 
The Coyotes have one more conference match before next week's KCAC tournament when KWU takes on Sterling on Thursday.
