Kansas Wesleyan Women's Tennis finished its regular season with a 6-1 win over the Sterling College Warriors on Thursday at Salina Tennis Alliance.
The victory secures KWU as the No. 4 seed in next week's KCAC Tournament. The Coyotes will await for their opponent to be determined as there could be a three-way tie between Bethany, Saint Mary and Friends, and tiebreaker procedures within the KCAC will have to be applied.
Wesleyan opened the match sweeping the two contested doubles matches.
Rylee Frye and
Hayden Bellamy beat Danna Arroyo and Hannah Giordanelli 7-5; and
Corina Salas and
Alivia Sherer beat Jessica Gautreau and Greta Fankhauser 6-4.
In singles, KWU won four of the five contested matches and got a forfeit win in the other.
Frye beat Giordanelli 6-2, 6-4; Salas beat Fankhauser 6-0, 6-0; Sherer beat Elysa Aspen 6-0, 6-0; and
Isabella Myers beat Gautreau 6-1, 6-0.
Sterling got one win as Arroyo beat Bellamy 6-0, 6-2.
