GARDEN CITY, Kan. – Kansas Wesleyan Men's Golf placed third at the KCAC Championships held at Buffalo Dunes on Monday through Wednesday.
The Coyotes finished with a four-round score of 1188, just two shots behind second-place Bethany in the final standings after Wednesday's final round.
KWU placed two in the Top 10 of the tournament led by
Jackson Malone finishing second with a 1-over par score of 289. He steadily improved each round after starting with a 79 in Monday's first round, and finishing Wednesday with a 69 in the final round.
Joey Wiscoki tied for eighth in the final standings with a score of 296 after rounds of 73 in the third round on Tuesday and the fourth round on Wednesday.
Hunter Newell and
Hank Reeg both tied for 21
st with a score of 303.
Derek He tied for 30
th with a score of 314.
Friends, ranked No. 10 in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll, was the KCAC Champion with a score of 1150, winning the tournament by 36 shots over Bethany with an 1186. KWU was third, Sterling was fourth with an 1198 and Evangel was fifth with a 1200.
