Kansas Wesleyan Women's Track and Field had its final tune-up before next week's KCAC Championships as the team spread out over three different locations over the weekend.
The Coyotes got two NAIA National Qualifiers and two new school records in the process.
At the Alex Francis Classic hosted by Fort Hays State University…
In the high jump,
Paige Smith was second with a mark of 1.68m, setting a new school record and hitting the NAIA B Standard.
In the Steeplechase,
Makayla Little was third with a time of 12:53.01.
Emorie McNabb was 12th in the 100m with a time of 12.60 seconds.
Aunisty McNeal was 12th in the discus with a mark of 37.26m.
Emorie McNabb was 14th in the 200m with a time of 26.21 seconds.
At the Kip Janvrin Open hosted by Simpson College…
Kirstin Hackney was 15th in the 1500m with a time of 4:41.58 and
Delaney Bond was 37th with a time of 4:58.41.
Hailey Nordhus was 23rd in the 800m with a time of 2:19.30,
Ava Kenyon was 27th with a time of 2:20.69 and
Shelby Lingle was 35th with a time of 2:24.46.
At the Drake Relays hosted by Drake University…
The 4x800m relay team of
Delaney Bond,
Hailey Nordhus,
Shelby Lingle and
Kirstin Hackney finished fourth with a time of 9:20.11. The time qualifies the team for the NAIA National Championships and sets a new school record.
The Coyotes compete next week in the KCAC Championships on Thursday and Friday hosted by Friends University.
