Women’s Soccer with emphatic 4-1 win in season opener

FREMONT, Neb. – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Soccer scored four unanswered goals in the final 20 minutes of Saturday's season opener with the Midland Warriors to come away with a 4-1 win at Heedum Field.
 
The Coyotes had a dominant performance outshooting Midland 31-4 in the match.
 
Wesleyan dominated the first 45, but could not get a ball in the net.
 
Midland was first on the board in the 53rd minute with a goal by AnneMarie Oilepo.
 
The score remained the same until the Coyotes were awarded a penalty kick in the 70th. Wendy Zamudio would step up and score it for the equalizer.
 
Rylie Moreno-Rojas gave the Coyotes the lead in the 79th minute on a goal assist by Zamudio.
 
Emma Bachman added a goal in the 87th minute and Lexi Jack closed the scoring in the 88th minute with a goal.
 
Talia Walsh and America Lopez had five shots each to lead the Coyotes. Goalkeeper Bianka Waxman had two saves.
 
The Coyotes are back in action on Saturday heading to Olathe to take on MidAmerica Nazarene before the home opener for the Coyotes on September 2 against Hastings.
