Kansas Wesleyan Women's Soccer dropped a Kansas Conference match to the Friends University Falcons 2-1 on Saturday morning at JRI Hospitality Stadium at the Graves Family Sports Complex.
Victoria Poon got the Coyotes on the board in the 17th minute with a goal that put KWU ahead 1-0.
Friends got an equalizer in the 26th minute.
The Coyotes had a chance to reclaim the lead in the 39th minute as
Abby Perez was fouled in the box, and a shot from the spot was given, but
Wendy Zamudio's try was stopped to keep the score tied.
The Falcons took the lead in the 56th minute.
The Coyotes had chances to get an equalizer but could not find the net. Perez had a shot in the 61st minute and
Talia Walsh in the 72nd.
Walsh had another chance in the 82nd but her shot was high.
KWU outshot Friends 7-6 in the closely contested match. The two shots by Walsh paced the team.
The Coyotes are on the road on Wednesday, heading to York, Nebraska to take on the Panthers, before returning home next Saturday to host Evangel University.
