Bob Saunders has been the Offensive Coordinator at Kansas Wesleyan since January, 2013.

Saunders most recently served as Wide Receivers coach for the Virginia Destroyers of the United Football League (UFL) and head coach Marty Schottenheimer. He also served seven seasons as an assistant coach for teams in the National Football League (NFL).

He coached the 2010 season at the collegiate level as quarterbacks coach at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. That season, the Bears were 7-3 and lost to the University of Chicago in the University Athletic Association Championship. Washington’s quarterback Stephen Sherman was selected to the All-UAA Team, completing 54 percent of his passes and throwing for nearly 1600 yards.

Saunders earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, graduating with honors. He also attended Southern Methodist, where played wide receiver and defensive back for the Mustangs, earning the Memorial Scholarship for Leadership. He prepped at Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, graduating with honors.

Saunders, the son of former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator and current Oakland Raiders senior offensive assistant Al Saunders, and his wife Gina have one daughter, Ellis Rae.
