Eric Middleton is currently serving as a volunteer coach for Kansas Wesleyan University for the 2026 football season, working on the defensive side of the ball. 
 
Coach Middleton is entering his 49th year of coaching football on the collegiate and high school levels. Middleton has served in various roles during his career such as Head Coach, Associate Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator, Defensive Passing Game Coordinator, Defensive Run Game Coordinator, and Defensive Position Coach.
 
Accomplishments include: 5 High School State Championships, 9 State Championship appearances, 13 Semi Final appearances, and numerous playoff appearances on the high school levels in Louisiana and Arkansas.

In his first season as a college Defensive Coordinator, Middleton took over a defense that had finished last in the conference the previous year, leading them to a fourth place ranking out of nine teams in the American Southwest Conference with seven true freshmen starting.
 
Coach Middleton is married to Susan Middleton and they share 4 children and 10 grandchildren.

The football tradition runs deep in the Middleton family as Head Coach Matt Middleton is the son of Eric and Susan Middleton and their grandson Caden Middleton serves as a GA football coach at Harding University.
