Mark Hendrickson joined the KWU football staff in the spring of 2019, serving as running backs coach.

 

Hendrickson brings 30 years of coaching experience at the Division I level, including 7 Bowl trips.

 

He spent nine years at Georgia Tech, the first four working under Head Coach Bill Curry. The following five years he worked for Head Coach Bobby Ross and was serving as tight ends coach and special teams coordinator when the Yellow Jackets won the 1990 National Championship. He went on to be an assistant coach at the University of Iowa for six years under legendary Head Coach Hayden Fry.

 

Hendrickson then spent 14 years at Western Illinois University where he served as the offensive coordinator for 11 years and Head Coach for three. In his first year as Head Coach, Hendrickson guided the Leathernecks to the second round of the FCS playoffs and was runner-up for the Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year Award.

 

Hendrickson is the father of Head Coach Myers Hendrickson who he coached at Western Illinois. Hendrickson and his wife, Ericka, have two other children. Son Davis is an Assistant Athletic Director at the University of Pittsburgh. Davis and his wife Katie, have one child, Jayne. Daughter Georgie is a recent graduate of Baylor University.
