Tyrone Carter has more than seventeen years of coaching experience. Last year, he worked as an assistant coach at Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Coach played high school football at Westchester High School in Los Angeles, Calif. After high school, he attended Fresno State University and was a member of the 93/94 football team. Coach Carter is also a former Head Football Coach and Dean of Student Athlete Success at Bethany College. He has coached on the high school, junior college, NAIA, and NCAA Division 3 level.

In 2009, he began his coaching career at his alma mater, Westchester High, where he coached offensive and defensive line his first year, and in his second year he was promoted to Head Junior Varsity Coach while still coaching the varsity OL/DL. From Westchester High, he moved over to Manual Arts High. Before leaving, he had become the Head Junior Varsity Coach, Varsity OL/DL coach, Run Game Coordinator, and Assistant Head Coach. Coach then moved over to East Los Angeles College, where he served as the OL coach his first year and then became the OL/Run Game Coordinator, College Liaison/Recruiting Coordinator, and Assistant Head Football Coach before leaving.

After winning a Conference championship and bowl game, Carter moved on to Bethany College in Kansas, serving as the OL coach. Before leaving, he added the titles of Run Game Coordinator, Pro Liaison, and Assistant Head Football Coach, and worked as an Adjunct and Visiting Assistant Professor. In 2019, Coach Carter served as the Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach at Grinnell College. Then moved over to the University of Saint Mary. Later that year, he was given the opportunity to become Head Football Coach at Bethany College.

Coach Carter has his Bachelor’s degree in human service management, a Master's in Management, and is currently working on a PhD in Adult Learning and Leadership. He is married to Elise Carter; the couple shares a fur baby (boxer) named Misty Night Carter.
