Indoor Track opens season at Concordia Early Bird

SEWARD, Neb. – The Kansas Wesleyan Indoor Track and Field teams opened the 2023-24 campaign on Saturday at the Concordia Early Bird hosted by Concordia University at Walz Fieldhouse.
 
The Coyotes had several strong performances, headlined by Joni Schroeder winning the mile run with a time of 5:32.88, picking up a five second win in the race.
 
Shelby Lingle placed third in the 1000m run with a time of 3:17.24.
 
Ty Davidson was third in the 1000m run with a time of 2:36.78, Triston Cottone was sixth in 2:41.14, Nicolas Martinez was ninth in 2:45.04.
 
Alayna Behrman placed fourth in the 3000m with a time of 11:41.36.
 
Zamari Burrell reached the finals of the 60m placing fourth with a time of 7.07 seconds. Riley Garcia was 26th in 7.39 and Tyler Fontenot was 28th in 7.41 in the preliminaries.
 
Tytus Reed placed fourth in the mile with a time of 4:44.04, Roman Mai was ninth with a time of 4:59.51.
 
Allyson Taylor was sixth in the mile in 6:12.33.
 
Zamari Burrell finished sixth in the 200m with a time of 23.19 seconds and Tyler Fontenot was 20th with a time of 24.12.
 
Keegan Lott was sixth in the shot put with a mark of 14.57m, Dylan Worrell was eighth with a mark of 14.35m, Simeon Faagai was 22nd with a mark of 12.07m, Keyon Baccus was 23rd with a mark of 12.06m.
 
Riley Garcia was 10th in the 400m with a time of 53.72 seconds.
 
Brenden Ellis placed 10th in the 3000m with a time of 9:22.50, Brodie Bradshaw was 17th in 9:37.49, Zachary Tibbits and Jack Horacek was 23rd in 9:47.19.
 
Simeon Faagai was 12th in the weight throw with a mark of 15.48m and Keegan Lott was 19th with a mark of 14.14m.
 
Julie Rottinghaus placed 14th in the long jump with a mark of 4.96m, Dahn Hanlon was 20th with a mark of 4.86m and Yamyle Ramirez was 21st with a mark of 4.81m.
 
In the triple jump, Julie Rottinghaus placed 14th with a mark of 9.98m and Dahn Hanlon was 17th with a mark of 9.84m.
 
Brionna Floyd finished 15th in the 200m with a time of 27.27, Julie Rottinghaus was 20th in 28.11, Yamyle Ramirez was 23rd in 28.49.
 
Hallie West placed 16th in the 400m with a time of 72.53 seconds.
 
Hallie West placed 17th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 12.13 seconds.
 
Brionna Floyd finished 21st in the 60m preliminaries with a time of 8.32 seconds.
  
Elizabeth Stout placed 25th in the shot put with a mark of 10.55m.
 
Elizabeth Stout was 23rd in the weight throw with a mark of 12.27m.

The Coyotes will return to action on January 11, heading to Wichita for the Friends University First Chance Qualifier at the Heskett Center at Wichita State.
