Kansas Wesleyan Developmental Men's Soccer had a competitive week but couldn't find a win posting an 0-3 record.
On Monday the Gold team traveled to Tabor and lost in a high scoring affair, 5-3. Forward
Bennett Lilienthal had a standout performance with 2 goals and the team created a lot of chances and missed opportunities. Tabor returns for a rematch in Salina on Monday, October 7.
The Purple Team faced Seward Community College at home Wednesday September 11 and lost 3-0. The Coyotes struggled throughout the match as Seward dominated most of the play. Freshman Goalkeeper,
Angelo Giron, got his first start as a Coyote.
The Gold Team played at Garden City Community College on Saturday, Sept 14 and lost 2-1. It was an even matched game, but Garden City converted on a couple of open chances early. KWU fought back but couldn't put away enough of their chances to secure a comeback. Freshman Defender,
Trevor Peal has a solid game and was the KWU standout performer.
"We are in the thick of the season with our developmental program. The guys are training hard, and we are seeing a lot of progress with some players. These games are critical in getting players competitive minutes where they can hone their decision-making skills. The Coyotes are now a combined 4-3. The Gold team will face McPherson College on September 19 at McPherson and Allen County Community College on Sep 22 in Salina. The Purple team will travel to Ottawa on September 16 to face Ottawa University.
