Developmental Women's Volleyball Weekly Recap - September 25

The Gold team went 4 – 0 on the week. Started off at the Friends Tri playing Friends University and Ottawa University. The Coyotes won both matches in 2 sets. Key offensive players for the day are Ashleigh Graves (0.300/Hitting %) Maddy Wolf (0.394/Hitting %) , and Savannah Shahan (0.344).Malia Smith was leader in the back row with averaging 6 digs per set. Freshman Captain Blair Pennington thoughts on the Tri. "We all connected well and trust each other to get the job done. Kansas Wesleyan then hosted a home quad against Friends. The Coyotes swept both Friends University teams on Friday night. Everyone offensively was a force to reckoned with. The team's hitting average was 0.508% allowing everyone to be hitting over a 0.425 with only 3 errors, and 63 attempts. Proving setter Blair Pennington did a really good job taking control of the offense and allowing everyone to shine. Coach Lane said "It is fun to watch everyone shine in the spotlight every time they get a chance to showcase what they are capable of. It makes my job fun and I love watching everyone step into a role. I'm Excited to see what this team accomplishes and excited to see us battle with some good games in the following weeks."
 
 
 
The Coyotes Purple team went 2-0 on the week in two 3 set thrillers against Friends University at the home quad. Abigial Gruber hit 0.450 over the week. Kalie Villagomez getting to play in the libero jersey for the first time averaging over 4 digs per set. "This Friday was done in Purple fashion, we played both of our games in extra sets winning 2-1 in both games against Friends 1&2. Every game we've played has been a close one, making each night just as exciting as the last. That has been the theme coaching this amazing group of young women, they continue to surprise me everyday, making it fun and easy to show up and lead theme every time." Coach Viet Nguyen
 
Kansas Wesleyan Gold team will travel to McPherson on Wednesday September 25 to face McPherson College at 5:00 PM. The gold team will also go to El Dorado, KS on Friday September 27 to face Missouri State University- West Plains at 10:00 AM and Butler CC at 2:00 PM. The Purple team will face Central Christian College in McPherson at 7:30 PM on September 27.
