Kansas Wesleyan Women's Volleyball Developmental Gold team went 1-2 this week. On Tuesday September 23 the Coyotes traveled to McPherson and got a sweep against McPherson College. Freshman middles, Avery Conner and Ashleigh Graves, both being offensive weapons hitting 0.571 and 0.500, respectively. On Friday, September 27 they then traveled to Butler Community College and went 0-2 on the day. The tri really tested the team in a good way facing a pair of strong junior college teams. The Coyotes stepped up to the challenge and a head great mental toughness, and even though they left the day 0-2 it was a good day of learning and facing good competition. Ryan Pennington was a consistent player for the Coyotes on Friday hitting a 0.216%.
 
"I thought playing tougher teams really showed that we can work through anything as a team. We learned a lot and we were able to lift each other up. We competed really well and I had a lot of fun playing good competition. I think that this team is amazing and shows so much potential for the rest of the season." – Freshman Ashleigh Graves.
 
The Coyotes Purple Team went 0-1 on the week. On Saturday September 28 the team traveled to Ottawa to face Ottawa University's developmental team. KWU matched up even against Ottawa's Developmental Team. First set had good competition making a close set with the Braves winning 25-23. Unfortunately, during the second set the Braves were able to separate themselves from the Coyotes resulting in a 0-2 loss. "It is always good to play teams that are more well rounded against this young team. Our players grow and get better week after week. They exceeded expectations regardless of the outcomes" – Coach Viet. Key players for Kansas Wesleyan were Sophomore Jenna Hayhurst hitting a 0.143% on the day and Freshman Kalie Villagomez averaging 4.0 digs a set.
 
The Coyotes Gold Team will face Central Christian College on Monday September 30 in Mabee Arena. On October 2, the Purple team will take on the Tabor Bluejays at 5:00 PM in Mabee Arena.
