BELTON, Mo. – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Bowling placed in ninth place at both of the Avila Eagle Invitationals on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday's competition consisted of five individual games to determine a winner. Sunday's competition was 25 baker games to determine a winner.
On Saturday, leading the KWU finishers was
Teigan Nielsen in 19
th with a pin total of 851 over five games.
Kaylee Laha was 26
th with 836 in five games,
Emma O'Donnell was 43
rd with 770 pins in five games,
Autumn Thompson was 54
th with 681 pins in four games and
Reagan Benson was 62
nd with 603 pins in five games. *
KWU finished with a pin total of 3869, well ahead of Saint Mary in the team standings. McPherson claimed the team title with a total of 4357 pins.
On Sunday, the 12 teams rolled 25 baker games.
KWU posted a ninth place finish at the event with a total of 3950 pins. The Coyotes were just 44 pins behind eighth place Grand View in the standings. Ottawa claimed the victory in the event with 4400 pins.
Next up for the Coyotes is the NAIA West Regionals, hosted by Baker University on Saturday and Sunday in Lawrence and Topeka. The event was formerly known as the Baker Wildcat Challenge. It is not a NAIA postseason qualifying event.
