LEAVENWORTH – Kansas Wesleyan Men's Outdoor Track opened its season on Friday night with the distance runners running at the Spire Challenge Distance Carnival at Berkel Memorial Stadium.
Wyatt Johnson picked up a win in the 800m with a time of 1:54.87.
Ty Davidson finished fifth with a time of 1:57.23,
Triston Cottone finished seventh with a time of 1:58.29 and
Nate Chavez finished 15
th with a time of 2:03.83.
Giovanni Rios finished second in the Steeplechase with a time of 9:54.35, and
Ian Doss was fifth with a time of 10:22.45.
The 5000m run had a huge field with 76 runners starting the race and three heats needed to safely run the event.
Damion Jackson finished fourth in the race with a time of 14:49.23,

th with a time of 15:01.48,

The Coyotes are back in action on Saturday with the field events and sprints group heading to North Newton for the Bethel Invitational at Thresher Stadium.
