EMPORIA – Kansas Wesleyan Men's Outdoor Track and Field continued its season this past weekend at the Emporia State Relays on Friday and Saturday at Zola Witten Track at Francis G. Welch Stadium at Emporia State University.
The Coyotes had plenty of solid performances again this week facing big fields in many events that included athletes from NCAA Division I and Division II schools and top NJCAA schools.
Wyatt Johnson won the 1500m with a personal best time of 3:59.07,
Damion Jackson was fifth in 4:03.36,
Austin Schaeffer was seventh in 4:04.24,
Ty Davidson was eighth in 4:04.34,
Triston Cottone set a new personal best in 12th with a time of 4:07.50,
Giovanni Rios was 13th in 4:07.54,
Tytus Reed was 17th in 4:10.53,
Austin Hess was 18th with a personal best time of 4:11.17,
Landon Steeger was 40th in 4:24.77,
Brodie Bradshaw was 47th in 4:31.98 and
Nate Chavez was 48th in 4:32.72.
Keegan Lott was fourth in the shot put with a mark of 15.54m, Keyon Baccus was 17th with a mark of 12.56m,
Austin Baird was 27th with a mark of 10.93m and
Riley Garcia was 32nd with a mark of 10.06m.
In the Steeplechase,
Nicolas Martinez was seventh in 11:04.32.
In the 800m
Giovanni Rios ran a personal best time of 1:57.74 to finish ninth,
Austin Schaeffer was 12th in 1:59.48,
Evan Pearce was 13th with a new personal best of 1:59.79 and
Will Childers was 41st in 2:16.71.
In the discus,
Keegan Lott was ninth with a mark of 46.89m, Keyon Baccus was 24th with a mark of 38.64m,
Austin Baird was 33rd with a personal best mark of 34.40m, and
Riley Garcia was 49th with a mark of 18.56m.
The 4x400m relay team of Ruben Rivera-Agosto,
Kean Dinkel,
Andrew Smith and
Evan Pearce was 11th with a time of 3:30.67.
Kamal Murphy was 13th in the triple jump with a mark of 12.75m.
In the hammer throw,
Keegan Lott was 13th with a mark of 44.66m and
Austin Baird was 25th with a mark of 36.58m.
The 4x100m relay team of
Tyler Fontenot,
Andrew Smith,
Cayden Purcell and
Kean Dinkel finished 13th with a time of 43.56 seconds.
In the javelin,
Keegan Lott was 13th with a mark of 56.68m and
Riley Garcia was 33rd with a mark of 29.61m.
Tristan Howard set a new personal best time of 15.87 second in the 110m hurdles finishing 16th.
Cisco Alvarez was 21st in the 5000m with a time of 16:49.30.
In the 400m hurdles
Tristan Howard was 23rd in 60.58 seconds and
Cayden Purcell was 27th in 62.11.
Kole Alexander was 32nd in the long jump with a mark of 5.68m, Brennon Allen was 34th with a mark of 5.47m and
Kamal Murphy was 36th with a mark of 5.28m.
In the 400m,
Andrew Smith was 36th in 52.18 seconds,
Trevor Peal was 37th in 52.44, Ruben Rivera-Agosto was 40th in 53.27 and
Sidney Washington was 43rd in 54.11. Smith, Peal and Rivera-Agosto all set personal bests.
In the 100m
Kean Dinkel was 41st with a time of 10.85 seconds,
Lorenzo Vaccari was 43rd in 10.91,
Tyler Fontenot was 47th in 10.95, Brennon Allen was 69th in 11.43 and Kole Alexander was 81st in 12.36.
In the 200m,
Kean Dinkel finished 46th with a time of 22.37 seconds,
Cayden Purcell was 53rd in 22.47,
Tyler Fontenot was 73rd in 22.89,
Andrew Smith was 83rd in 23.26 and
Trevor Peal was 90th in 23.48. Dinkel, Purcell, Smith and Peal all set new personal bests.
The Coyotes are back in action this weekend at the Friends University Spring Open on Friday and Saturday at Adair-Austin Stadium in Wichita.
