WICHITA, Kan. – Kansas Wesleyan Men's Outdoor Track continued its season this week at the Friends Spring Invitational at Adair-Austin Stadium.
The meet was changed from Thursday through Saturday, to Wednesday through Friday due to forecasted inclement weather over the weekend.
Keegan Lott finished second in the shot put with a mark of 15.50m and
Dylan Worrell was sixth with a mark of 14.11m.
Brenden Ellis finished second in the 1500 with a new personal best of 4:06.48,
Evan Pearce set a new personal best finishing third in 4:08.86,
Nicolas Martinez was 15th in 4:26.13,
Nate Chavez was 18th in 4:32.27,
Jack Horacek was 19th in 4:33.38 and
Will Childers set a new personal record in 24th in 4:47.58.
In the 5000m,
Giovanni Rios set a new personal best with a time of 15:35.81 finishing third.
Ian Doss was sixth in 16:14.70.
Keegan Lott finished fourth in the discus with a mark of 45.17m and Keyon Baccus was 13th with a mark of 39.69m.
In the 200m,
Kean Dinkel was eighth in 23.08 seconds,
Lorenzo Vaccari was 11th in 23.18,
Tyler Fontenot was 12th in 23.20,
Andrew Smith was 17th in 23.65,
Trevor Peal was 20th in 23.92 and Ruben Rivera-Agosto was 21st in 23.95.
Riley Garcia made his debut in the decathlon, marking the first time in many years a KWU track athlete had competed in the multi-event discipline. He finished eighth with 3654 points.
James Preston was eighth in the long jump with a mark of 6.09m,
Darius Archuleta was ninth with a mark of 5.93m and Kole Alexander was 10th with a mark of 5.21m.
In the 100m preliminaries,
Kean Dinkel finished ninth in 11.12 seconds,
Lorenzo Vaccari was 10th in 11.15,
Tyler Fontenot was 23rd in 11.38, Darrias Pearsall was 32nd in 11.64 and
Tristan Howard was 43rd in 12.57.
Tristan Howard was 10th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 58.94 seconds and Brennon Allen was 11th in 59.26.
Andrew Smith finished 10th in the 400m with a time of 52.31 seconds.
Trevor Peal was 12th in 52.81 and Ruben Rivera-Agosto set a new personal best with a time of 52.82.
Tristan Howard finished 16th in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.93 seconds.
Austin Baird was 16th in the hammer throw with a mark of 36.90m,
Dylan Worrell was 24th with a mark of 28.62m and Keyon Baccus was 25th with a mark of 26.21m.
The Coyotes are headed back to Wichita next weekend for the KT Woodman Classic at Wichita State.
