MANHATTAN – Kansas Wesleyan Men's Golf finished in 11th place at the Midwest Spring National Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Colbert Hills.
The Coyotes, who were the tournament host, finished with a three round team score of 945 for the tournament after rounds of 316, 312 and 317.
Leading the way for the KWU team finishers was
Jackson Malone who tied for 21st with a score of 227.
Hank Reeg tied for 38th with a 234,
Tyler Tarvin was 59th with a 241,
Joey Wisocki tied for 63rd with a 246 and
Hunter Newell was 69th with a 254.
KWU had four individuals in the tournament as well.
Doak Neill and
Caden Stevens tied for 41st with a score of 235.
Logan Smith tied for 54th with a score of 239 and
Dylan Esch was 60th with a score of 242.
Bellevue (Neb.) was the team champion with a score of 875, winning the tournament by 19 shots over Hastings with an 894. Northwestern (Iowa) was third with an 896, Grand View was fourth with an 898 and Friends rounded out the Top 5 teams with an 899.
Caden Wynne from Bellevue was the individual champion with a 7-under par 209, winning by eight shots over Henry Kosmicki from Hastings.
The Coyotes now step into the postseason and the KCAC Championships April 28-30 at Buffalo Dunes in Garden City.
