OKLAHOMA CITY – Kansas Wesleyan Men's Golf opened the new season on Monday and Tuesday at Lincoln Park West in the weather-shortened UC Ferguson Invitational hosted by Oklahoma City University.
The Coyotes finished tied for seventh place in the tournament among the 12 teams in the event, which included seven teams ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25.
Weather forced a delay in the tournament's start on Monday and officials shortened the event to two rounds from the scheduled three.
KWU tied with Bellevue with a final score of 571 for the tournament with rounds of 282 and 289.
Joey Wisocki led the Coyotes, tying for seventh place with a 5-under par 137 for the tournament.

th with a 152 and
Kaden Mellott tied for 78
th with a 159.
Oklahoma City was the team champion with a 22-under par 546 for the tournament, shooting 269 in the first round and 277 in the second for the No. 2 ranked Stars. MidAmerica Nazarene, ranked No. 5 in the NAIA, was two shots off the pace with a 548.
Science and Arts' Jaxen Brewer was the individual champion by one shot with a 12-under 130. Alexian Rouault from MidAmerica Nazarene was second.
The Coyotes will place in the Mid-South Classic hosted by Grand View University (Iowa), next Tuesday and Wednesday, at Sand Creek Station in Newton.
