NEWTON – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Golf posted a third place finish at the Bethany College Classic on Monday and Tuesday at Sand Creek Station.
KWU finished with a team score of 645 for the tournament with a 314 in the first round and a 331 in the second round.
Leading the way for the Coyotes was
Abby Donovan who finished third overall with a score of 150.
Chaney Littell and
Ryann Warren tied for ninth place with a score of 163.
Sarah Krenowicz tied for 17th with a score of 172 and
Emily Stamper was 25th with a score of 181.
KWU also had two individuals in the tournament.
Savanna Nickum finished tied for 23rd with a score of 180 and
Abby Day was 28th with a score of 195.
University of Texas at Dallas, a NCAA Division II institution was the tournament champion with a score of 629. William Penn was second with a 635, followed by KWU. USAO was fourth with a 677 and Southwestern was fifth with a 692.
UT-Dallas' Sofia Trevino shot an even-par 144 to win the tournament by five shots over Gabriana Franco from William Penn.
KWU is back in action on April 21-23 at the KCAC Championships in Joplin, Missouri.
