TOPEKA, Kan. – The Kansas Wesleyan Men's Indoor Track and Field team opened the 2026 portion of the schedule on Friday at the aptly named Washburn Rust Buster hosted by Washburn University.
Plenty of KWU student-athletes got their first action of the new year on the banked oval of the Washburn facility.
There were 14 Coyotes in the mile run led by
Wyatt Johnson in fifth place with a time of 4:16.47.
Austin Schaeffer was 18th in 4:23.10,
Evan Pearce was 21st in 4:24.25,
Braulio Torres was 29th in 4:28.20,
Ethan Ochana was 40th in 4:34.05,
Mauricio Mendez was 46th in 4:36.83,

Keegan Lott finished eighth with a mark of 14.52m. Dylan Marks was 24th with a mark of 11.73m,

Brandon Weimer was 41st with a mark of 8.34m.
KWU had three 4x400m relay teams. Leading the way was the group of
