NIXA, Mo. – Kansas Wesleyan Men's Golf tied for first with MidAmerica Nazarene at the Fremont Hills Classic hosted by Evangel University on Monday and Tuesday at Fremont Hills.
KWU posted the two low rounds of the tournament with a 284 in the first round and a 288 in the second round, but shot a 307 in the third round to end up tied with MNU who shot rounds of 293 all three rounds.
Both finished with a team score of 879 and were 19 shots ahead of third place Evangel.
Jackson Malone led the Coyote finishers tying for third place with a score of 219.
Hank Reeg and
Joey Wisocki tied for fifth both posting a score of 221.
Hunter Newell tied for 12
th with a 223 and
Derek He tied for 14
th with a score of 224.
Josh Killingsworth of MidAmerica Nazarene was the individual medalist with a 1-over-par 214, four shots ahead of his teammate Cade Freeze.
The Coyotes are back in action next week at the KCAC Championships at Buffalo Dunes in Garden City. The tournament runs Monday through Wednesday.
