Men’s Volleyball falls to (RV) Morningside

Kansas Wesleyan Men's Volleyball fell in three sets to Morningside University Mustangs on Friday inside Mabee Arena.
 
The Mustangs, who are receiving votes in the NAIA Top 15 poll, won 25-13, 25-23, 25-12.
 
In the opening set, the Coyotes led 5-4 early on after back-to-back kills by Conor Williams, but a 7-0 Morningside run would give the Mustangs an 11-5 lead. The Mustangs extended the lead out to 21-10 when the Coyotes would score three straight points to make it 21-13. Morningside would score the final four points of the set.
 
Morningside led 5-2 in the second set, but the Coyotes came back and got within two at 6-4. Wesleyan fell behind 15-11, but kept pressing, using a later 3-0 run to tie the set at 18-all. Facing set point at 24-20, the Coyotes rattled off three points to get within one at 24-23 before the Mustangs would take the set.
 
Josh Condon's kill got the Coyotes within a point at 5-4 in the third set, but the Mustangs pulled away out to a 13-6 lead and extended it to 17-8 and pushed the lead out to 22-11 before closing out the match.
 
Williams had seven kills to lead the Coyotes. Dallas Manaku had 14 assists and six digs. Josh Kiely had nine digs and Alexander Rivera had eight.
 
The Coyotes are back in action on Saturday hosting No. 14 ranked Dordt at 4 p.m. inside Mabee Arena, and then the Coyotes host No. 2 ranked Park to close out the season next Tuesday.
