Cristobal Schenfeld earns KCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor

Kansas Wesleyan's Cristobal Schenfeld has earned this week's KCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors, the conference office announced Monday. Student-athletes are selected for their performances from Aug. 24-30 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.

Schenfeld scored four goals in KWU's 6-1 win over Doane on Saturday.

His first goal came off a pass off from the top of the D as he was running towards goal at the right post and his shot slid inside the far post in the fifth minute.

His second came as received a pass from the left side into the box at the right post just outside the 6-yard box and his header found nylon for the goal in the 15th minute.

He completed the hat trick in the 30th minute redirecting a free kick sent into the box.

He was able to score off another misplayed ball by the Doane keeper that was sent into the box on a free kick.

Kansas Wesleyan is 1-1 on the season and hosts Hastings College at 9 p.m. at JRI Stadium. The game was originally scheduled for 7:30, but forecast extreme heat in the region prompted the start time change.
