WICHITA, Kan. – Kansas Wesleyan goalkeeper
Shae Wirt has been named as the KCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Student-athletes in the KCAC Player of the Week program were selected for their performances from Oct. 27-Nov. 2 by a vote of conference sports information directors.
Wirt had a pair of clean sheets as the Coyotes wrapped up the regular season with a pair of wins. He had three saves against McPherson to secure the win, including a wild diving save on a rocket shot that would have been a goal. Wirt has helped the Coyotes secure the most shutouts overall in the KCAC (eight), and tied for the most in conference play (five; tied with Oklahoma Wesleyan and Ottawa).
KWU is the No. 3 seed in the KCAC Tournament that starts Tuesday. KWU hosts No. 6 seed Tabor at 6 p.m. at JRI Stadium.
