ASHLAND, Neb. – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Cross Country finished sixth at the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic hosted by Doane University and College of Saint Mary on Saturday at the Olsson Cross Country course at Mahoney State Park.
The Coyotes had a score of 198 points, finishing one point behind Mount Mercy, just missing a Top 5 finish in the meet out of the 29 scoring teams in the field.
Kirstin Hackney paced the Coyote finishers with a time of 22:20.7 to finish in seventh place for the 6K course.
Makayla Little was 24th in 23:14.5,
Micah Dickens was 42nd in 23:34.9,
Delaney Bond was 46th in 23:43.7, Libby Gutowski was 89th in 24:32.1,
Hailey Nordhus was 113th in 24:53.8,
Mia Oliver was 143rd in 25:24.8,
Mya Schweitzer was 207th in 26:17.7, and
Emma McAlister was 218th in 26:28.2 to round out the KWU finishers.
A total of 335 runners finished the race in the field.
Dordt was the team champion with a score of 104 points, followed by Benedictine, SCAD-Atlanta, Saint Mary and Mount Mercy to round out the Top 5 teams.
Bellevue's Grace Steinmetz was the individual winner with a time of 21:28.3, winning the meet by 31 seconds.
Up next for the Coyotes is the KCAC Championships on November 6 in Springfield, Mo., hosted by Evangel.
