Hackney earns KCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honor

Kansas Wesleyan's Kirstin Hackney has earned KCAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors for her performance last week. Student-athletes are selected for their performances from Sept. 7-13 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.

Hackney posted a time of 18:22 in Friday night's Queen City After Dark meet in Springfield, Missouri on the way to an 11th place finish at the event. She was the top KCAC finisher in the race. Her time for the 5K course set a new KWU cross country record for the distance.

Hackney and the Coyotes posted a sixth-place team finish at the event that featured NCAA Division II and other NAIA competitors.

The Coyotes will return to action on October 10 at the Fort Hays State Tiger Classic.
