HUTCHINSON – The No. 18 ranked Kansas Wesleyan Women's Cross Country Coyotes put five runners in the Top 10 as the Coyotes rolled to a victory at the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic on Thursday evening at Fun Valley Sports Complex.
The Coyotes won the meet with 37 points, eight better than Hutchinson CC who finished with 45 points.
Leading the way for the Coyotes over the 3-mile course was
Micah Dickens who finished fourth with a time of 19:42.25.
Makayla Little was sixth with a time of 20:00.44,
Mia Oliver was eighth with a time of 20:11.43,
Libby Gutkowski was ninth with a time of 20:16.34 and
Hailey Nordhus was 10
th with a time of 20:19.52 to round out KWU's Top 10 finishers.
Mya Schweitzer finished 17
th in 21:17.80, Lauryn Mikkelson was 19
th in 21:27.34, Ava Kenyon was 25
th in 21:49.46, and
Emma McAlister was 25
th in 21:55.41.
Dodge City was third in the team standings with 73 points, followed by Tabor with 84 and Garden City CC with 109. Bethany, Hesston and Coffeyville CC also had athletes in the meet, but did not place as a team.
Next up for the Coyotes is the Queen City Twilight hosted by Missouri State University on September 11 in Springfield, Missouri.
