PROSPER, Texas – Kansas Wesleyan Men's Golf opened the spring portion of its season on Monday and Tuesday in the Texas Invite hosted by Friends University (Kan.) at Gentle Creek.
The Coyotes were led by
Hank Reeg and
Joey Wisocki, who both carded scores of 224 for the three-round tournament to tie for 18
th place.
Jackson Malone was tied for 45
th with a score of 237,
Derek He tied for 51
st with a 239 and
Logan Martin was 61
st with a score of 256.
Host institution Friends was the tournament champion with a score of 873, two shots better than Oklahoma City University. USAO was third with 880, Missouri Valley was fourth with 883 and Wayland Baptist was fifth with 885 to round out the top five teams.
KWU finished with a score of 924, five shots better than Morningside.
Missouri Valley's Felipe Suarez was the individual champion with a 5-under par score of 211. He was one shot better than Trinton Nobles of Friends.
KWU is off for over a month as the Coyotes are next in action at the Midwest National Spring Invitational, a tournament KWU is hosting on April 6 and 7 at Colbert Hills in Manhattan.
