OTTAWA, Kan. – Kansas Wesleyan Men's Volleyball fell in straight sets 25-16, 25-18, 25-13 to the Ottawa Braves on Tuesday inside Ottawa's Mabee Center.
KWU had a 3-1 lead to start the first set but Ottawa scored the next four to lead 5-3 and later extended the lead to 13-7. Ottawa led 18-9 and never let the Coyotes get within six the rest of the set.
Ottawa had an 11-6 lead in the second set when the Coyotes got three straight points, two of them on consecutive aces by
Conor Williams to get within two at 11-9. The Coyotes trailed 17-16 when Ottawa got three straight points to lead 20-16 and the Braves would take the second set.
KWU fell behind 9-1 in the third set and just couldn't catch back up.
Kaleb Cui had nine kills to lead the Coyotes.
Dallas Manaku had 14 assists. Williams had five digs and three service aces.
KWU is back in action this weekend in St. Louis, taking on Missouri Baptist on Friday and UHSP on Saturday.
