OKLAHOMA CITY – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Golf opened the fall portion of its schedule on Monday and Tuesday in the Southwestern Christian Invitational at Lincoln Park Golf Course.
 
The Coyotes had two players in the tournament led by Emily Stamper who placed eighth with a score of 246 for the three-round tournament. Freshman Madelyne Ponce finished 31st with a score of 340.
 
There were just four scoring teams at the tournament led by Redlands Community College won the tournament by nearly 80 shots over Seminole State College. Redlands had a team score of 927 for the tournament.
 
Regina Olvera from Redlands CC was the individual champion, finishing with a 1-under par 215, winning the tournament by 19 shots.
 
KWU returns to action on September 14 and 15 in the Crestview Fall Classic hosted by Friends University at Crestview Country Club in Wichita.
