Coyotes' Aliyah Wood Heats Up in Three Wins, Earning Flag Football Offensive Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas Wesleyan senior receiver Aliyah Wood hauled in 30 catches for 304 yards in three Coyote wins, last week, earning NAIA Women's Flag Football Offensive Player of the Week for March 31.

Six of Wood's 30 catches went for touchdowns, and she led KWU to one of its biggest wins in program history when the Coyotes beat Ottawa (Kan.), 21-20. In the win over the Braves, she had eight catches for 93 yards and a score.

The Bakersfield, Calif., native followed with a nine-catch, 113-yard performance against Southwestern (Kan.), scoring three times in the 39-0 win over the Moundbuilders. She closed the week with 13 catches and two scores, piling up 98 yards in a 32-0 win over William Woods (Mo.).

It's the second time a Kansas Wesleyan Women's Flag Football player has been honored this season on the offensive side of the ball, after Chihiro Iwata claimed the season's first award in February.

Wood and the Coyotes are 6-1 in 2026, resuming their KCAC slate with a pair of games this week, Wednesday at Bethel (Kan.), and Saturday at Cottey (Mo.). Both games will air on the Urban Edge Network at www.urbanedgenetwork.net
