The 1969 KCAC Champions lost two early games and then raced to finish at 8-2 to win the northern division far ahead of second place Baker.  KWU easily toppled all northern division foes with the exception of a hard fought 7-6 win over Ottawa.  The Coyotes faced the Sterling Warriors in a game in Salina for the KCAC Championship.  KWU had beaten Sterling earlier in the year and they topped Sterling again to present KWU with its first football championship in over a decade.
