Fiffe was the first player in Kansas Wesleyan University history to be named to the KCAC All-Star team all four years as a first team selection. In 1950 Charles held several records: Total points (1123), field goals (401), free throws (321), rebounds (1149), and season rebounds (320). In 1950 the Coyotes defeated Fort Hays State to qualify for the national tournament. The team record of 22-2 was the best mark in KWU history.
