Lynn was a starter for Coach A.B. Mackie’s 1936 KCAC champions and the 1937 squad, which barely missed a fourth consecutive KCAC championship, and on the 1938 team until sidelined for the season with a knee injury. Lynn’s 143 yards gained against Sterling made him the fourth player in school history to run for more than 140 yards in a single game. To quote the Salina Journal, “The Baker game was all Lynn Chartier.” He scored one touchdown and passed for two more, keeping KWU in championship contention for 1937. Lynn was appointed team co-captain in 1938.
