Jerry Jones Kansas Wesleyan Coyote Athletic Hall of Fame
Ascendra Peters was a bright spot for the Kansas Wesleyan Women's Basketball team in her four years with the Coyotes. Peters was a four-year starter for KWU and led the team in scoring three of her four years playing. She set three new career records for the Coyotes including field goal percentage, free throw percentage and total rebounds. She set two single season records as a junior in rebounds and free throws made. She also shares the career free throws made record. She scored 1537 career points, the second highest total in school history. Peters was named First Team All-KCAC as a junior and a senior and was named Honorable Mention All-KCAC as a sophomore. She averaged 13.1 points per game in 117 career games with a 42.1 career field goal percentage and an impressive 78.7 percent free throw percentage for her career.
