Scott Ritter was a four-year letterwinner for the Coyotes in football, playing both offensive and defensive line all four years for the Coyotes and coach Jon Bingesser. Ritter earned Second Team All-KCAC honors as a freshman, and was a First Team All-KCAC offensive lineman as a sophomore for the 1982 KCAC Championship team. He also earned Honorable Mention All-NAIA District 10 as a sophomore. As a junior, Ritter was named First Team All-KCAC on the defensive line and Second Team All-KCAC as an offensive lineman and as a senior was named Second Team as both offensive and defensive lineman in 1984 in addition to an Honorable Mention All-District 10 selection.
