Trent Ainsworth, the team's leading scorer, was named as a NAIA Honorable Mention All-American, NSCAA All-American and MVP of the NSCAA Tournament as well as a First Team All-KCAC selection in 2000. He was selected in the fifth round of the USBL draft in 2000 by the Kansas Cagerz. In 1999, Ainsworth was an Honorable Mention All-KCAC selection. His 582 points in 2000 ranks No. 6 all-time in season points scored. He scored 1009 points in his two-year career with the Coyotes. He averaged 15.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in his two seasons. He also shot 55.7 percent for his career at KWU, which ranks in the Top-5 in program history.
