A superb athlete who lettered all four of his college years in basketball and football, Ron was a key player for the Coyotes during his football career at KWU with 30 catches for 492 yards. Ron caught 6 touchdowns in 1964, and he returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown against Bethany in 1962. Upon graduation from Salina High, Ron immediately moved into the basketball line-up for KWU Hall of Fame coaches, “Swede” Backstrom and Ken Cochran.
